Staying consistent on social media

Showing up consistently on social media isn’t about posting every single day—it’s about creating a system that helps you show up intentionally. Whether you’re growing a personal brand or building a business online, consistency is the difference between being forgotten and becoming familiar.

Don’t use social media to impress people; use it to impact people.” Dave Willis, Author and Speaker

Here’s how to stay consistent without feeling overwhelmed.

Get Clear on Your Purpose

Before you post anything, ask yourself:

Why am I on social media?

What result do I want from my content?

Who am I trying to reach?

When you know your purpose, you stop posting random content just to “stay active.”

Choose the Right Platforms for your business

You don’t have to be everywhere.

Pick one primary platform, show up consistently, and use one secondary platform for repurposing. This will help create growth and is more sustainable when life gets busy

Create a Content Pillar System

Instead of asking “What can I post today?”, define 3–5 content areas. For example, a Business Coach might have main content around strategy tips, client stories and behind the scenes. This helps to keep your messaging consistent.

Batch Your Content

By creating multiple pieces of content at one time you stay ahead and can schedule your posts in advance.

Use Templates and Repurpose Content

You don’t have to reinvent content every time. You can repurpose present and past content, for example, by turning a blog post into short social media posts, carousels or reels.

Engage Intentionally

Don’t just post and ghost! Building relationships through social media can work. I’ve made friends, attracted clients and invited people to my events all through engaging with others on social media.

Finally, Track Performance and Adjust

I like to review my numbers across my business, every month, so I can make adjustments to my approach. This can include understanding which format had the most reach, did a certain type of content create more engagement and did my content bring in more followers or leads.

What are your thoughts on social media and how you use it?

What’s adding value….

Reading about the life of Marie Antoinette by Antonia Fraser. which has inspired me to go to the Marie Antoinette Exhibition at the V&A museum.

I’m also reading Addicted to Anxiety by Owen O’Kane. In his book he writes, “In my thirty years of working in physical and mental health, I haven’t witness anxiety levels as high as they are now” …. “Workplaces are struggling to cope with levels of illness linked to anxiety”
