Why Energy Matters

I wonder if you can relate to this?  Although I’m pretty good at managing my physical and emotional well-being, the accumulated restrictions of the past 2 years did have an impact on my motivation levels.

Like many others, I missed travel, live events, attending workshops and face to face meetings. Just a few of the things that are important for my interest and enthusiasm in business.

It’s taken a while, but hopefully, life is changing and I’m feeling hopeful and energised again!

I was reminded of the importance of our energy, physiology and its impact on our emotional state, when I recently completed Tony Robbin’s 5-day Ultimate Challenge.

Were you one of the 800,000 people who signed up?  It was quite an experience.

Tony explains and helps demonstrate the importance of being in the right state first, before working on a strategy to achieve your goals.

I’m a fairly action-oriented person and I do tend to jump into the ‘how to make it happen’ first, which I know can sometimes lead to feelings of overwhelm and frustration.

Why is this important? Our energy and mindset will impact how we show up in business, who we work with, our decision making and our confidence levels.

I’ve noticed this with myself and my clients.

As soon as our energy levels improve, we exude more confidence, take more risks, clients show up, opportunities appear and we are creative in developing solutions and ideas.

Lots of things will impact our energy and emotions from the food we eat, the community we spend time with and the seemingly small day to day things we tolerate.

When working with my clients we explore some of these areas first, before working on any plans, as it’s important to have the right foundation in place.

So, I thought I would share a few questions I ask myself and my clients to identify any energy drains…

  • Which areas of your business do you find frustrating and overwhelming?

  • To what extent are you over giving and under earning?

  • Are there any tasks taking up lots of energy and time?

  • What are you tolerating in your business and life? This can range from equipment not working to small things that need repairing.

  • Are there habits and routines you can change to help you feel more energised?

  • How often do you incorporate movement into your day?

  • Who do you love to work with and why?

  • Do you have a community of friends or colleagues who uplift and inspire you?

  • How much play and fun do you have in your life?

“I’ve just had a fabulous 90-minute coaching session with Susan centred around productivity. I was attracted to working with Susan as she has such a calm and caring manner. I knew from the pre-session questions that Susan asked me that I would get a bespoke outcome from the session and I wasn’t disappointed. The time flew by and I have come away with some clear actions that are realistic and I know will make a huge difference to my working week”

“I’m delighted with the excellent guidance and support Susan has provided me. I am confident that the knowledge and support I’ve received from her will enable me to move my business forward.
