Success is not an action but a habit

At the start of a new year some of us set the intention to start or maintain healthier habits, whether this work or health related.

But familiar routines, commitments and day to day life, can mean we fall back into old patterns!

If this sounds familiar here are a few tips…

~ Habit stacking is an easier way to introduce a new habit over time. This means adding a new habit to an existing habit – eg after brushing my teeth I will do a few stretches in the morning, when I have my morning cup of tea/coffee I will also drink a glass of water and take my supplements, as the kettle boils I’ll do a few squats or or after attending a networking meeting I will follow up with new connections.

~ Schedule it in your calender. Every day, we make choices that either contribute to or take away from overall success. Maintaining consistent habits is much easier when you have a routine. Every week and month I plan ahead and add all my tasks, related to my goals and my exercise classes, into my diary.

~ Don’t give up if something doesn’t go to plan. Just start again.

~ Focus on your future self image. For example…. I am someone who – has energy and vitality, enjoys planning, cooking & eating healthy meals, who makes time to rest and relax, who is consistent in creating content, who is excellent at managing my finances.

~ To stay inspired and motivated, surround yourself with people who are focused on making a difference, and check in with them regularly.

What habits would you like to change or introduce?
